This article educates the readers on the gradual development of modern medicine through Greco-Roman History, especially the progress made in the 17^th century. Since Galen of Pergamon was among the major contributor to the progress made, the article ensured to analyze his medical and philosophical inputs. In European history, Andreas, a Flemish Anatomist, dedicated his time and effort to studying human anatomy. As a result, the poet gives the researchers a basis to focus on their studies while developing the remedies required for the various ailments that most people contracted during this time. Additionally, the paper recalls a time when the poet had abandoned his research. She is brought back controversially as she gets ill and has to research what medicines she requires to treat herself. Notably, the article discusses the seventeenth century when there was an evolution of the country into New Spain; hence many advocated for the elimination of gender inequalities while trying to achieve universal education as this was believed to be the main solution to better health.

On the other hand, Sor Juana adds that the exceptional learning that she was exposed to only attracted more admirers in her life. But she is determined to become a nun rather than committing herself to marriages as she believes in this position; she can offer care to children and retain her freedom that will allow research and writing. She gets exposed to several reading materials that she gains knowledge that makes most refer to her as a library. Hence, the article indicates the roles played by females in the contribution towards modern medicine, which was enhanced through education, allowing progression from the ancient remedies.
