Universal Principles of Quality

What does quality mean to you?

Quality means a lot, especially with the line of work that I am in. My specialty is medical logistics in the U.S. Army, I provide medical supplies worldwide to all types of units. Having the best quality control measurements has aided me in providing the best services to every service member that I have worked for either in the Hospital or while deployed. Ensuring that medical supplies and equipment are above standards and are not expired is a huge aspect of quality. But Jesus called them to him and said, “You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their great one’s exercise authority over them. It shall not be so among you. But whoever would be great among you must be your servant, and whoever would be first among you must be your slave, even as the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many Matthew 20:25-28, English Standard Version, 2001).

The Military throughout all the branches implemented producers to provide the best practices that will give customers the best results. The Department of Defense approved this quality system and made it mandatory to be used by the departments of the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Defense Supply Agency. The military quality system helps in establishing the requirements for a contractor’s inspection system. The various requirements of this system are. Contractor responsibilities. Inspection and testing documentation. Records. Corrective actions. Drawings and changes. Measuring and testing equipment. Process controls. Indication of inspection status. Government-furnished material. Non-conforming materials. Quality products. Sampling inspection. Inspection provisions. Government inspection at subcontractor or vendor facilities (Luthra, S., Garg, D., Agarwal, A., & Mangla, S. K. (2020).

Providing quality involves ensuring that FIFO is incorporated into products that have expiring items such as medical supplies, food, water, etc. Another way to provide quality would be having someone oversee product management including how products are manufactured or how products are designed, it would help aid in great productivity.

How have you been involved with product/project quality in your professional and personal life?

I have been involved with many project and product quality measurements throughout both my career and my personal life. The latest project that I was led or involved in was my son’s baby shower. Ensuring that each aspect of the project had measured up to the quality that needed to be completed. This project had many parts including transportation from many parties involved, certifying the logistics and admin had the quality that they needed without having the assistance of anyone was stressful. Total quality management (TQM) projects are example of operational projects (Gray Larson,2020).

Summary

Concluding that having quality management is providing a service that will guarantee better productivity and enhance customer satisfaction allowing project managers, associates, and more to have a great product and project that will have fewer errors. And the Lord said, “Who then is the faithful and wise manager, whom his master will set over his household, to give them their portion of food at the proper time? Blessed is that servant whom his master will find so doing when he comes. Truly, I say to you, he will set him over all his possessions. But if that servant says to himself, ‘My master is delayed in coming,’ and begins to beat the male and female servants, and to eat and drink and get drunk, the master of that servant will come on a day when he does not expect him and at an hour he does not know and will cut him in pieces and put him with the unfaithful (Luke 12:42-46, English Standard Version 2001). Quality management systems or quality systems may be defined as techniques/ methodologies a manufacturer must follow to ensure that all the products manufactured meet the specifications (Luthra, S., Garg, D., Agarwal, A., & Mangla, S. K. (2020)
